Wisdom tooth extraction is a surgical procedure to remove one or more wisdom teeth. If a wisdom tooth doesn’t have room to grow pain, infection or other dental problems, may require you to have it pulled.

What Is A Wisdom Tooth?

If you have not had your wisdom teeth out, and you have been hesitant about doing so, you should consider setting an appointment to find out if this will be necessary. This is one of the more routine oral surgeries that can be performed.

Should You Have Your Wisdom Teeth Removed?

People that have wisdom teeth removed typically do so as a result of crowding, or if they are not correctly positioned, can cause discomfort. You will only know if you need to have them removed by setting an appointment with a dentist that can evaluate whether or not they will grow in like regular teeth, or if they will adversely impact your ability to chew. If they are remaining below the surface of the gum line, or growing out at an angle, these would be reasons for this type of extraction.
