How To Keep White Teeth White After A Whitening Treatment

How To Keep White Teeth White After A Whitening Treatment

Dental Whitening Treatment

A bright and beautiful smile is one of the most difficult things to maintain. There are many types of foods that we eat and habits that we have that can diminish their overall appearance. That is why it is important to have your teeth professionally whitened by a local dentist. After undergoing successful teeth-whitening treatment, it is important to keep your smile white. How can you keep your white teeth white?

Here are several tips you can use in order to maintain your smile once you have undergone a dental whitening treatment.

Avoid Dark Sauces

Sauces can be used to enhance meals. Sauces add flavor to every bite. Be careful about the sauce you choose. Sauces that are dark in color are not recommended for use on the teeth.

They can have a significant impact on the whiteness of your teeth. They can also cause you to spend more money. Avoid dark-colored sauces like soy sauce, red pasta sauce, and any special BBQ sauce.

Avoid Coffee And Tea

It is important to start your day with coffee or tea. Have you ever thought about how these drinks can affect your teeth? These drinks can stain your teeth.

Warm water is a better choice. Alternately, you can drink warm plain milk with white yogurt.

Avoid Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolates are a favorite of many people. What does dark chocolate have to do with your teeth? Your whitened teeth will be affected by dark chocolate.

Caffeine can stain teeth. Ask your dentist for a recommendation if you are a chocolate lover and are unsure which one you should use to keep your teeth white.

Avoid Sour Fruit Juice

Lemons, oranges and mandarin are all examples of sour fruit juices. These juices can stain whitened teeth.

RCT data from 2018 on adults suggests that fruit juices could cause tooth erosion, caries and even enamel softening. Also, be sure to check out other fruits.

Avoid Acidic Drinks And Food

Acidic foods include orange, lemon, and other citrus fruits. These foods add flavor to food, but they don’t make your teeth whiter. They can cause enamel to become weaker due to their sour taste.

Your primary responsibility is to keep your teeth healthy after you have visited your dentist. Avoid acidic or sour foods. Follow your dentist’s directions.

Regular Flossing

It is a great idea to floss your teeth regularly to maintain your smile. To remove food particles, floss at least once per day. Plaque buildup can occur between your teeth and along your gums.

Use Straws When Drinking

Straws are a great way to drink. Straws will ensure that the liquid does not get through your teeth. Straws are an option if you must drink juices or other beverages that stain your teeth. You will feel the drink directly in your throat.

Rinse Your Mouth Thoroughly

After eating, rinse your mouth with water. A small antiseptic mouthwash bottle can be kept in your bag or backpack. You can clean your mouth after you have eaten to get rid of food particles.

Brush Your Teeth Twice A Day

It takes commitment to maintain white teeth. You should brush your teeth twice daily. Alternately, brush your teeth with regular toothpaste after each meal.

Ask your dentist for recommendations about the best toothbrush. The dentist will recommend a brush that protects your enamel. Brushing your teeth after every meal removes food particles and keeps your enamel healthy.

Stop Smoking

Are you a smoker? Smoking is not a good way to maintain white teeth. This is bad for both your overall health and the appearance of your whitened teeth. If you have difficulty quitting, ask your doctor for advice on other options.

Use Whitening Toothpaste

There are many kinds of toothpaste on the market. Talk to your dentist if you’re unsure which toothpaste is best for you. You should use whitening toothpaste at least once a week.

Touch-Up Treatments Every 6 Months

Touch-ups might be a good option to follow up on your whitened teeth. Discuss with your dentist how long the procedure will take.

By following these simple tips, you can keep your smile bright. However, it will take consistency and regular touch-up appointments to maintain your bright and beautiful smile.
